French gardens of Retiro Park

Rental cars at the Egyptian Temple to Isis in Madrid, Temple of Debod

We took a panoramic bus tour of Madrid today. Afterward our guide took me and Andy to a nearby laundry so that we could drop off our clothes. Andy and I went to the Mercado de Miguel where we ate tapas. I had one that was breaded and  baked in a scallop shell with cheese, calamari, and oyster.  I also had some jamon iberico on a buttered roll.  Then i bought a pastel de belem cake. Andy also had a jamon iberico on a different kind of roll with a chocolate muffin.  We bought some grapes and headed back to the hotel for our siesta.  Tonight we meet our group at 8 pm for a traditional Basque dinner. Basque cuisine is world renowned thanks to celebrity chefs and the innovative restaurant El Bulli that became legendary after closing in its prime only months ago.
